Announcement of my interest to run for NAD Region I Board

I am writing to you to express my interest in running for the Region I Board position with the National Association of the Deaf.  I offer NAD a decade of experience in various business environments, particularly the Telecommunications, Sign Language Interpreting and Human Services fields.

To effectively illustrate what I hope to contribute as a NAD Board Member: 

• Increase NAD’s national volunteer base by creatively communicating opportunities and needs by self or with other volunteers on behalf of NAD.

• Increase communications on various NAD initiatives among associations within Region I via an agreed on mode of communications. 

• Host and support others in the hosting of fundraisers and/or networking socials in various settings for people with different backgrounds within Region I.

• Increase the strength of NAD identity by creatively sharing information about the mission and vision being supported by thousands of NAD members nationwide.

• Continue to support NAD in its pursuit of its marketing objectives as a Membership Chair.

I am a strong believer of advocacy on the grassroots level. I will, with the help of the NAD members and the Board, continue to support NAD with my understanding of various business strategies as well as my love for my fellow members of the deaf community.

Among my talents are my communication skills, interest in tracking and capitalizing on resources, and my delegation abilities. I am a believer in trying new ways in starting and maintaining relationships. I am hopeful that I will bring a similar approach to NAD with my understanding of the latest benchmarks in the marketing field.
